I first saw this ancestral statement embroidered on a hide tobacco bag for a veteran (Métis artist unknown). I was immediately struck by this powerful statement. I began to reflect on its meaning and created a beaded piece paired with the Two-Spirit colours voilet-red-yellow-two-toned-blue shared by the late Sharon Proulx-Turner in her book 'she who walks for days inside a thousand eyes'. I interpret this statement, culturally and spiritually, to mean the revitalization of language, ceremony, art practices, and roles.
This is a strong magnet pin that wears excellent on shirts and jackets.
